Tom

As a lawyer

Tom is a lawyer, member of the Queensland Law Society since his admission the roll of solicitors in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2016. He has a robust background in public administration supported by a sound scientific background as a holder of the Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in medical biotechnology backed by research in at the University of Queensland and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. Tom’s combined medical and legal background enabled him to practise across many areas of law, litigating and assisting with matters ranging from employment law, migration law and constitutional law, whilst employed as a senior officer within the Commonwealth of Australia.

Tom’s passion for community and charity work spurred him to establish one of Australia’s largest youth mentoring charity, M-YES Inc. This led Tom to being recognised as an outstanding Queenslander by Hon Minister Grace Grace, MP – The Queensland Cabinet Minister for State Development and Infrastructure and Minister for Industrial Relations in 2016 for his outstanding work in creating an innovative mentoring program to assist disadvantaged youth. His program helped many young people overcome adversity, set goals, plan and lead meaningful lives as participating members of Australia’s economy. Tom has a good track record for making sound judgement, and the ability to interpret layers of complex statutes and apply findings of fact to arrive at robust and defensible decisions. Tom is also a holder of the award of Juris Doctor and Graduate Certificate in Applied Law from the University of Queensland, with distinction, focused in Business in Asia, Intellectual Property Law and World Trade Law. Tom is the managing director of Tools 4 Life Paediatrics and his goal is to establish a centre synonymous with excellence in clinical practice in line with his family values, taking after the footsteps of his late father, who was the founder of a medical centre that saved countless lives in Africa.

Community support

Tom is an avid reader and enjoys charity work and is currently embarking on providing clean drinking water to impoverished communities around the world, starting with his own motherland, Africa. Tom was torn to see the significant impact certain presentations imposed on children. He saw an observable lack that challenged him to establish a clinic that was truly dedicated to achieving results and assisting children and young people through what he calls, a healing centre.

Through this dedication, he has always been hyper selective in his recruitment to ensure he has the most dedicated team to support his vision of establishing a healing centre that is committed to the highest standards of care. Tom is passionate about people and leaving a lasting impact on society. He believes his investment in children will make a significant difference in ensuring a healthy future for Australia whilst reducing the burden of healthcare on families and children.
